You might not have thought about this yet, but traditional prints are not very Eco-friendly. The solvent ink is polluting the soil, the printing process is energy intensive, the shipping pushes more CO2 into our atmosphere and the packaging contains plastic and is often not recyclable.
That's why Riptide is trying to offer some alternatives. We're still not carbon-neutral, but we can claim we are an Eco-friendly printing business now.
Noteworthy Eco-friendly initiatives:
1. Print-on demand
We are a print-on-demand business, which means we don't keep stock, so we don't take up physical space that needs water, electricity, heating etc... All your prints are printed on demand and shipped immediately.
2. Eco-friendly inks
We use 'Neo pigment water based inks', which are 100% non-hazardous and toxin-free. They meet the strictest industry standards.
We have eliminated the use of traditional solvent inks throughout our supply chain and ensure that Neo pigment water based inks are used.
3. Sustainable paper
We source our paper and wood sustainably, from managed forests. These forests support wildlife, store a lot of carbon and help mitigate flood risks.
4. Local fulfillment
If you know that international trade-related freight transport is responsible for 7% of all carbon emissions globally, we at Riptide want to minimise our contribution to that. That's why we use an international network of printers, through which we can assure local fulfillment. The shortest route to the customer helps us save on carbon emissions significantly.
5. Plastic free
We hope that these Eco-friendly initiatives will reconfirm your choice of buying at Riptide Prints and continue to support our efforts.
